      Description

During imaging, I get the message that Windows is “dirty” and it has to be fixed before I can capture the image. After a bit of searching, I found this:

      https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Windows_8_UEFI_Imaging_Tips

After turning off fast startup - Control panel>Power options>Advanced, and reboot two times, I was able to capture the image again.

@Wayne-Workman The solution from Tom Elliott worked perfectly. However, after installing some software and trying to take a new image, new problems appeared. Will make a separate topic for this.

I will try it to see if it works. BUT …

All partitions on the drive was deleted before installing and I let Windows 10 decide how it wanted the drive… The bios is set up with UEFI.

BTW - Thank you for responding so fast!

    • Dell Optiplex 5040 - M.2 256GB PCIe NVMe Class 40 Solid State Drive

We have bought a number of Dell Optiplex 5040 and they are delivered with an M.2 SSD. Win 10.

We are running Fog version 1.3.0-RC-8.

We were able to register the pc in Fog, created an image and then created an event to upload the image to Fog. The event starts, but as soon as it is to start compressing, it hangs. Nothing more happens. This leads me to believe that Fog has a problem with this kind of drive. Is this correct?

@george1421 First of all - thank you for taking the time to answer.

I will wipe my Ubuntu server so it is clean and then do the git install. If I understand you right, the command switches that I used with the installer

      sudo php_ver=‘7.0’ php_verAdds=’-7.0’ ./installfog.sh

should also be used with 1.3.0 ? Just asking to be 110% sure. English is not my native language 🙂

Yes, we have current hardware, we use Win10 and UEFI…

P.S. I got quite confused by all the suggestions around the internet and eventually believed 1.2.0 to be compatible with 16.04 as long as I used the switches above with the installer…

    • Fresh install Ubuntu 16.04+FOG 1.2.0 not completing installation

I am getting an error on php5 when the script is checking packages even if I used this to initiate the install:

      sudo php_ver=‘7.0’ php_verAdds=‘-7.0’ ./installfog.sh

I wish there was some really updated pages that explained it better. I have been searching high and low for a surefire way to do the installation. The best would of course be to set up a repository so that installation and upgrades would be totally smooth. Has anyone tried it?

What can be the source of the error?

    • Ubuntu test install

I am working for a university college in Norway and we need to update our image system. Right now, we are using Ghost, but it is an old version. So we thought we would take a look at FOG.

I am very familiar with Ubuntu and a few other Linux flavors, but I was wondering if there was a ppa (private package repository) for FOG? This makes installation and updates a breeze…

      Regards,

      Svein
