Here is the situation, hopefully someone can help.

The individual who setup our fog server doesn’t remember what they set the root user’s (named fog) password to. In the MySQL database there is a hash for the TFTP user’s password. our TFTP user is fog. Does anyone know how to decrypt this hash? was it encrypted with fogcrypt?

If so, I have a copy of fogcrypt, and I know the secret pass phrase too, but I don’t know if I can decrypt with fogcrypt

Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

the only passwords encrypted with FogCrypt are those you setup for Active Directory integration. I think the rest of the passwords are random strings.

Also, there is a fog user for the WebUI and a fog user in the OS used for a couple of things including TFTP I think. Make sure you are looking/change the correct one.

why not just create a new password and alter the database and fog config with the new hash?
